My Review: 3.5 stars
Everything We Keep was a fast paced romantic mystery. I found myself flipping the pages furiously to find out the answers to the many twists that ensued throughout the novel.
There were many things I liked about this book and quite a few I didn’t. With that being said, it’s a hard book to review with out giving away spoilers. In a nutshell, I’ll just say Aimee, the main protagonist, was not the brightest bulb in the box, perhaps even the dimmest. That was extremely annoying! There were several instances where I just wanted to slap her because she ignored the clues right in front of her.
I was quite intrigued with the different diagnoses presented for personality disorders and thought they worked well in this story. I’m actually surprised I haven’t read about these disorders more often as they do make for a good vehicle to explain abrupt changes in a character’s life.
Not only is this a suspenseful romance, there’s also a mighty big love triangle involved. For those of you doing my 2016 Book Challenge, I took off reading a love triangle because many of you struggled with it in 2015. Well, here’s one for next year perhaps!
Overall, if you’re looking to be consumed in an engaging, suspenseful romance and don’t want to think too hard about the details and the likelihood or reality of this happening, then this is your book!
