My Review: 4 stars
Still Me was a welcome addition as the third book in the Me Before You series or it can read as a stand alone. I had heard this series was going to be a trilogy but once again, Moyes has left an opening for a wonderful continuation in a fourth book. Here’s hoping! Many of you know her first book, Me Before You, was a 5 star for me, her second book, After You, was only 3 stars and now she’s back with a solid 4 stars.
This story was well paced and kept me engaged from the start. I liked that there were multiple sub-plots that felt important to the story. The minor characters, which show up in many of the sub-plots, are people I want to know better. I’d include Ashook and his wife, Margot, Treena and Eddie, Ilaria, Lily and Mrs. Gopnik’s “niece” in this list.
This book explores living in two places at the same time and feeling like you’re never fully in one place or the other. It challenges the value of telling the truth or keeping secrets. It reminds you to be yourself and to not change for anyone. Lots of good message flow through these pages and a good spoonful of romance.
NOTE: Here’s a big shout out to Jojo Moyes for understanding the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. So many authors get it wrong and being a Type 1 diabetic myself, it’s infuriating. So thank you!
