My Review: 4 stars
The Space Between was the perfect mystery that kept me completely invested. Thankfully, there were no unreliable narrators or abusive domestic dramas in this one. That seems to be the rage these days, so it was a delight to read a smartly written mystery that allowed me to learn a bit about astronomy.
The story had a great hook that seemed quite believable. As with all mysteries, I had a few endings parsed out, but this one still surprised me. I liked that this was a relatively short book that was not weighed down with unnecessary details. To the author, thank you for having a female protagonist with a career in the sciences and was a leader in astronomics. It’s too often that the female protagonists are depicted as simple housewives with typical women dominated fields.
Beyond the mystery, this book focused on trust between those you love most. How can you hold on to trust when what you see in front of you causes mistrust? Therein lies the title, The Space Between. Often you have to look between the obvious to find the facts.
